James May has a mishap with a hot air balloon and a caravan in tonight's Top Gear

In episode 3 of the latest Top Gear series James May crashes a hot air balloon / caravan, Clarkson drives a replica rally car and SIARPC is Chris Evans.

It’s Sunday again, so just the usual reminder that our favourite Car Show – Top Gear – is on tonight with an all new episode.

Tonight’s episode features James May crash landing a Balloon with a Caravan strapped beneath. This episode was filmed back in October and, as is often the case with Top Gear stunts, it didn’t exactly go to plan. The plan was for May to race his caravan, which had been strapped beneath a hot air balloon, and beat Hammond driving a Lamborghini to the finish on the cricket green at Eltisley in Cambridgeshire.

But the elements conspired against the balloon and May ended up crashing in to a hedge by a field a few miles away, whilst the cricketers waited patiently for him to arrive back in Eltisley.

Following on from last week, the TG boys look at which company has made the most truly great cars over the years. Also on offer is Clarkson driving a replica rally car and the Star in a reasonably priced car is petrol head Chris Evans.

Same time – same place. BBC2 9.00pm tonight.

  1. As a CaravansTV show producer in the UK, I just wish I had the kind of budget to do what
these guy’s do, good content make good telly, together with the best editing skills, makes
    this programme superb to watch – and that’s why they have such a massive following . . . . . .
OH Yeh, and the cars are good too !
I think Top Gear is one of the best programmes on the BBC, and it gets better all the time. I
thought this particular episide was also great, and thier world wide decleration for hating
Caravans continues Brilliently, a reputation they need to keep up ! . . . . . .Even Though I own
    a Caravan myself.
I have seen many websites now, all basically saying the same things,  all complaining about
the same stuff in regard to Top Gear and thier on screen adventures being fake – Does it
matter if the whole thing is staged ?
I’t s all about getting ratings, and the best way for the BBC to do this is by entertainement,
and that’s why they do what they do, to entertain us, it works – and they know it . . . .Top
Gear used to be boring – No longer
    Keep it up Guy’s !
