Toyota Auris 2010 Updates

Toyota has updated the Auris for 2010

Toyota has introduced a number of changes to the 2010 Auris including exterior styling tweaks and higher quality interior trim.

We’re back on the ‘Home Market’ tack again, this time with the Toyota Auris. As we’ve said before, car makers have a habit of updating their models in their home market before rolling out the changes worldwide. So the news that Toyota has given the Auris a tweak or three for 2010 will translate in to UK models before too long.

And the Auris is a big deal for the UK as it will be the UK busy building the Auris Hybrid next year. So what changes has Toyota introduced to the Auris to keep it fresh through 2010?

Nothing too drastic. You now get a slightly different grill – depending on model designation – and a new bumpers. Lights have been changed front and back and the bonnet gets a bit of a redesign. Exterior changes are rounded off with some new alloys.

Interior changes are modest with some new colour options, upgraded materials and the addition of some extra kit to some models.

On the oily front the 1.8 litre gets revised variable valve timing and models equipped with CVT get a set of paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

Some, all or more of these changes to the Japanese Auris will filter through to the UK model before the Auris Hybrid launches next year.

  1. Peter Konrad says:

From the press kit, they aimed to be after more interior quality and a higher visual appeal.

    But then:

“The unique, bridged centre console which brings the gear lever, handbrake and instrumentation within the closest possible reach of the driver is trimmed in a new, bright metallic finish matched by the door handles.”

    BARF!

    DISGUSTING!

    HOW NASTY CAN YOU GET????

    They *never* learn.
