Bonhams are offering a 1929 Bentley 4 1/2 Litre Supercharged Racing Single-Seater at their Goodwood auction in June.
The 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed is only four months away, and one of the highlights will be the Bonhams sale of the car collection of famed watch maker George Daniels, which includes a 1929 Bentley 4 1/2 Litre Supercharged Racing Single-Seater once owned by Tim Birkin in which he set the Brooklands Outer Circuit Lap Record in 1932 at 137mph.
Tim Birkin was one of the fabled ‘Bentley Boys’ and George Daniels one of the most famous horologists in the world, and the sale of this Bentley 4 1/2 Litre ‘Blower’ is bound to attract a lot of attention and interest, with every expectation it could raise as much as £4 million.
But the George Daniels collection is not just the famous Blower Bentley and has plenty of other stuff in it worthy of mention, including a 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C-2300 Long Chassis Touring Spider, 1908 Itala 100hp Grand prix Car, 1954 Bentley R-Type 4.5-Litre Continental Fastback, 1929 Bentley 4 1/2-Litre Four Seat Tourer, 1907 Daimler 45hp Roi-des-Belges Tourer as well as a series III V12 E-Type Roadster and a couple of motorbikes.
The George Daniels collection will be auctioned on 29th June 2012 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
