2017 Audi A5 & S5 go on sale in the UK

The recently revealed 2017 Audi A5 and S5 – Coupe and Sportback – have now gone on sale in the UK with prices from £30,700 for the Coupe.

The Audi A5 and S5 Sportback – that’s the five-door A5/S5 that think’s it’s a Coupe – and the A5 and S5 Coupe have only recently been revealed, and now they’re now on sale in the UK, with the Coupe costing from £30,700 and the Sportback from £38,005 (although the Sportback will get cheaper when the SE arrives).

Trim levels are as expected – SE, Sport and S Line – with the entry-level SE coming with 17″ alloys, xenon headlights with LED running lights, CLimate, Drive Select, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Safety and Service and Parking System.

Sport models, from £32,600 for the Coupe and £38,005 for the Sportback, adds LED interior lights, electric sports seats and MMI Sat Nav, with the S Line (from 34,250) adding 18″ alloys, Sport Suspension, Alcantara and Leather and LED lights.

The range topping S5 models – costing £47,000 as a coupe or sportback – come with the usual visual tweaks including quad tail pipes, aluminium-look door mirrors and polished 19″ alloys, as well as beefier brakes and sports suspension as plus the option of Misano Red and Navarra Blue paintwork.

Inside, the S5 models get Nappa Leather sports seats and MMI Sat Nav, with options like Audi’s Virtual Cockpit, Matrix LEDs and B&O Sound tempting options.

Engine choices across the A5 range are a 2.0 litre TFSI with 190PS (manual or 7-speed S tronic), 2.0 litre TFSI with 252PS, 7-speed S tronic and quattro 4WD, 2.0 litre TDI Ultra with 190PS and 7-speed S tronic with quattro option and the 218PS 3.0 litre TDI with quattro, 7-speed S tronic.

Top of the A5/S5 tree is the S5’s 3.0 litre V6 TFSI quattro with a healthy 345PS, quattro 4WD and an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox.

Still to come are the 2.0 litre TDI Ultra A5 Sportback SE, Sport and S Line, and the A5 Sportback 3.0 TDI quattro 286PS.
