Aston Martin take over Harrods’ window with DB10, DB9 GT and DB5
Aston Martin has taken over a Harrods window display until the end of January with the DB10, DB9 GT and DB5 displayed to tempt buyers.
When you’re the coolest car brand in the world, you can sensibly think that displaying your wares – and your history – in the world’s most famous luxury department store could well lead to a raft of new orders and interest. That, at least, seems to be the thinking, as Aston Martin – still probably the world’s coolest car brand, if not exactly the most profitable – take their wares and transport them to Harrods window to catch the eye of passing trade in Knightsbridge.
According to AML, it’s the Aston Martin DB10 – created specially for the James Bond SPECTRE film – which takes pride of place in the three car display, but we’re not so sure.
Perhaps, rather then the ‘unavailable’ DB10, it should be the very available Aston Martin DB9 GT, a DB9 that is the most credible DB9 to come in the more than a decade on sale, and the only car on display you can actually order.
But the truth is, it’s the third car AML have on display that will catch everyone’s eye – the iconic Aston Martin DB5.
First revealed in 1963, the DB5 is the car the world still thinks of as the epitome of cool, and the Aston Martin whose looks have never been bettered.
Aston Martin’s Marek Reichman said:
Harrods is one of the world’s most trusted luxury brands and we are delighted to join forces with them to create this rather unique display in tribute to our most famous nameplate.
On display until 28 January, Aston Martin have staff on hand to try and turn fascination with the display in to orders for the company, with the odd pitch or three including not just Aston Martin’s cars, but the new AM37 Yacht created with Quintessence Yachts too.
