The BMW M3 CS has been revealed as BMW take the recipe for the M4 CS and apply it to the M3, with 454bhp from its 3,0 litre straight-six. Just 100 cars for the UK.
The BMW M4 CS arrived in the spring as BMW gave the M4 a more hardcore edge, and now the same recipe has been used to deliver the new BMW M3 CS.To all intents and purposes, the M3 CS is just the M4 CS but with an extra couple of doors, but it does give buyers another opportunity to get their hands on a hardcore CS.
Just 1200 M4 CS are being built, and it looks like the UK will only be allocated around 100 units, each costing from £86,380.
Under the bonnet is the same 454bhp straight-six, good for 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 174mph, with power going through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and electronic limited-slip diff.
There’s also a new four pipe sports exhaust system with variable flaps controlled by the driver’s choice of driving mode – Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ – and the suspension is a tweaked version from the M3 Competition Package.
Lightweight forged alloys – 19″ at the front, 20″ at the back – are inspired by those used in DTM, there’s a more aggressive nose with big air vents and slim grille, LED headlights, bulging bonnet, new carbon fibre splitter and Gurney Flap.
Inside there’s still Pro Nav, Climate and Harmon Kardon Sound despite the hardcore nature, M Sport seats, leather, Alcantara and a chunk of ‘CS’ badges.
