Lexus adds a new entry-level model to the RX range for 2020
Lexus is updating the RX and RX L SUV for 2020 with a new entry-level model, and the Lexus IS gets a new I Blue F Sport version.
The Lexus RX got a bit of a facelift and some new technology earlier this year, but Lexus are back with extra tweaks for the RX, and the RX L, with a new entry-level version, as well as a new special F-Sport version of the IS.
Despite the new RX model being the entry-level version, it still comes with a big spec including 12.3″ multimedia screen, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, Lexus Safety System+, LED headlights with auto high beam, power tailgate, wireless smartphone charging and heated front seats.
If you want to up the spec of the entry-level RX instead of climbing the trim tree, you can option stuff like the Premium Pack – which adds stuff like smooth leather, ventilated front seats and hands-free tailgate – and the Tech and Safety Pack which adds HUD, Blind Spot and Rear Traffic Alert with automatic braking.
In addition to the new entry-level RX, Lexus will now also offer the range topping RX L Takumi with Captain’s seats in the back.
But it’s not just the RX that gets a bit of an update, there’s also a new version of the IS F Sport the IS F Sport I Blue.
The new IS is called I Blue in reference to the indigo plant dye known as ‘Japan Blue’, and Lexis has given the IS I Blue a coloured steering wheel, blue panels in the interior, 18″ F Sport alloys, black door mirrors, gloss black grille and gloss black frames for the front fogs.
There’s also Lexus Premium Nav with 10″ screen, power front seats and auto-fold mirrors in addition to the usual F Sport spec for the IS.
No word yet from Lexus yet on prices for the new entry-level RX models or the IS F Sport I Blue.
