The new Skoda Dog Umbrella in action
Skoda has revealed a new accessory for the Superb – the Simply Clever dog umbrella – which stores in the door for wet weather walking.
The dog lovers amongst us know that dogs get very wet, and very smelly, when the great British weather does it’s usual trick, but Skoda now has that covered with their new ‘Simply Clever’ canine umbrella.
Designed to slot in to the door of the Skoda Superb – just like the normal Skoda umbrella that’s been fitted to higher-spec Superbs for years – the new dog umbrella is a bit of a master stroke for dog owners.
The latest addition to Skoda’s option range is constructed using weight-saving unobtanium and attaches to the dog’s collar for a proper ‘paws-free’ operation.
Skoda project leader, Dr Jacques Rustle, said:
We’re delighted to bring this new dog umbrella to the UK market first
British rain is officially the wettest in the world, so we knew this accessory would have big appeal with owners in the UK. During development, we captured large quantities of British rain and brought it back to our workshop in the Czech Republic before signing the design off.
Skoda also consulted with the RSPCA on the new dog umbrella, and they were suitably impressed with the final product. Spokesperson Kat Litchfield said:
Dogs love the great outdoors, but not all of them like to get wet. The launch of this new product means that even the most reluctant of hounds will be able to enjoy their exercise – come rain or shine!
The new Skoda dog umbrella joins other useful pet accessories in the Skoda range like harnesses, boot liners and waterproof covers.
