The Peugeot RCZ is an appealing little sports coupe from Peugeot which, with a different badge and greater performance, might garner more kudos than it does.
Now, the Peugeot RCZ R is about to go on sale in the UK – order books open on 18th November – and it will cost a not unreasonable £31,995.
For around £4k more than the currently most expensive RCZ – the Magnetic THP 200 – Peugeot are offering you an extra 70bhp – there’s a fulsome 270bhp on tap in the RCZ R – which is enough to get you to 62mph in 5.9 seconds yet still return official economy of 44.8mpg.
The RCZ R also get a strengthened 6-speed manual ‘box, uprated clutch, bigger intercooler and twin-scroll turbo and a new exhaust which gets sound system to amplify its sound.
Peugeot has also added a Torsion diff to keep the wheels tamed, wider tracks, revised dampers, stiffer springs and anti-roll bar and a fixed spoiler at the back for extra downforce.
It’s an appealing performance offering from the Peugeot RCZ R, with first deliveries expected in January 2014 in a choice of Moroccan Red, Nera Black, Mercury Grey and Opal White.
