Alfa Romeo Stelvio UK price & specs – costs from £33,990 for the Stelvio RWD

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV goes on sale in the UK with prices starting at £33,990 for the RWD Stelvio, rising to £45,390 for the 4WD Stelvio Milano Edizione.

It was late last year that the long awaited Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV finally arrived, looking like a Giulia on stilts and promising plenty of driving dynamism despite its high ride.

Now, the new Stelvio is going on sale in the UK as Alfa keep their fingers crossed it offers enough of a challenge to more established sporty SUVs to turn Alfa’s sales around.

The Stelvio comes with a choice of four trim levels, Stelvio, Super, Speciale and the limited run Milano Edizione, with just two engine options available initially.

They are a 2.2 litre diesel with 207bhp and a 2.0 litre petrol with 276bhp, both with Q4 AWD and an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

The diesel offers official economy of 58.9mpg and 0-62mph of 6.6 seconds, whilst the petrol gets to 62mph in 5.7 seconds and has official economy of 40.4mpg.

But from September there will be more prosaic offerings, with a 177bhp version of the 2.2 litre diesel with either Q4 AWD or RWD and a 197bhp version of the 2.0 litre petrol with AWD.

The entry level trim – just called Stelvio – comes with 17″ alloys, LED tail lights, Climate, Alfa’s DNA drive modes, 8.8″ infotainment with DAB and Bluetooth, multifunction steering wheel and a 3.5″ TFT instrument cluster.

Next up the Stelvio range is the Stelvio Super which adds 18″ alloys, front parking sensors, 3D Sat Nav, 7″ TFT instrument cluster, two tone leather dash and leather and cloth upholstery.

The Stelvio Speciale goes further still with 19″ alloys, red brake calipers, chrome bits, Bi Xenons, power folding mirrors, leather seats (heated and powered in the front), flappy paddles and aluminium trim.

On top of the Stelvio Speciale sits Alfa’s launch edition Stelvio Milano Edizione with leather sports seats, 10 speaker Sound Theatre, 20″ alloys, keyless, privacy glass, gloss black window surrounds, rear view camera and Athermic windscreen.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio will be in Alfa’s UK showrooms in September, with prices starting at £33,990 for the RWD Stelvio 2.2 177bhp RWD version, rising to £45,390 for the 276bhp AWD Stelvio Milano Edizione.
