Criminal Motor Proceedings
There are an increasing number of ways to fall foul of the road traffic criminal law system, ranging from simple speeding offences to more serious offences of causing Death by Dangerous or Careless Driving.
Finding yourself involved directly in road traffic criminal proceedings can be an incredibly worrying and frightening experience, especially if you are arrested and detained in police custody for any period of time.
A conviction can also, in some circumstances, affect your employment.
It is vital that you know and understand what your rights are under these circumstances, particularly with regard to how long you can be kept in custody, how to conduct yourself and what you should (and should not) say while under arrest.
We provide advice and support for any period of detention at the Police Station.
Should your case go to court we work with specialist criminal Barristers to prepare and represent you at the Magistrates or Crown Court (and if necessary, The Court of Appeal).
Please contact us on 01245 860 220 for a free 30 minute consultation. Saturday and evening appointments also available by appointment.
Road Traffic Accidents
If you have been involved in a road traffic accident that was not your fault as a driver, passenger, pedestrian, cyclist, user of public transport, motorbike or whilst on a horse, you may be entitled to compensation.
To help your case, you should take names, addresses and telephone numbers of any witnesses to the accident and take photographs of the accident scene if possible. If the third party driver has no valid insurance, leaves the scene or admits to driving a stolen vehicle, you should contact the Police immediately and report the incident.
If you have incurred expenses such as prescription costs and travelling expenses, remember to keep receipts as evidence. We can also help you recover your car insurance policy excess or any loss of earnings you may have suffered.
Please contact us on 01245 860 220 for a free consultation to discuss your claim.
