2018 Lexus NX SUV Facelift debuts in Shanghai
The Lexus NX SUV – Lexus’s best-selling car in the UK – gets a facelift for 2018 along with a tweaked chassis and new technology. On sale UK later in 2017.
Now, three years since it went on sale in the UK, Lexus is making sure the NX continues to appeal with a raft of updates for the 2018 model year NX – revealed today at the Shanghai Motor Show.
Cosmetic exterior changes include a revised grille and new bumper at the front which flow more seamlessly than before, a bigger back bumper which makes the rear end look more cohesive and purposeful, updated tail lights, an underbody spoiler and bigger chrome tail pipes.
It’s all quite subtle – best not to play too much with a winning formula – but enough to properly improve on the NX’s already good looks.
Inside, the cabin – a cabin which was already a pay grade or two above its price point – gets a bigger infotainment screen – 10.3″, some 50 per cent bigger than the current car – bigger touchpad with improved palm rest, bugger wireless charging pad and tweaked HVAC controls. Oh, and the analogue clock gets changed.
Engine options remain the same with a choice of four-pot petrol turbo or 2.5 litre hybrid, although the NX 200t becomes the NX 300, but there are changes to the NX’s chassis, with new shocks and the introduction of Adaptive Variable Suspension to deliver a ride, drive and dynamics tuned to driver input.

The new NX still possesses the same elements that have made it popular in the past—a sharp design, everyday convenience and driving pleasure that will satisfy all enthusiasts—but the vehicle as a whole has evolved dramatically, as you’re bound to see and feel when you first experience it
The 2018 Lexus NX is expected to go on sale in the UK later in 2017.
