The 2018 Porsche Cayenne has been revealed ahead of its official debut thanks to an online leak, showing a new Cayenne which is very much evolutionary.
Porsche has been busy teasing the 2018 Cayenne ahead of its official reveal next week, but the plans to keep the new Cayenne under wraps until then have gone a bit awry.Auto Express managed to publish a gallery of photos of the new Cayenne by accident (they quickly removed them), so we have a gallery of photos of the new Porsche Cayenne somewhat earlier than Porsche planned.
Unsurprisingly, they show a Cayenne which follows Porsche’s ethos of quiet design evolution, with a Cayenne which looks very familiar.
Yes, the nose has been changed and now sports a wide central grill which is mimicked at each side by the air intakes, new lights, a more dynamic roofline and a back end which turns in to an SUV take on the Panamera.
Inside looks very Panamera influenced too, with lots of touch screens replacing the previous button count, and an altogether more upmarket feel.
Riding on the same platform which underpins the Bentley Bentayga, the new Cayenne should be even more dynamic than the current model, and will boast a range of engines taken from Porsche’s latest offerings.
That will mean V6 and V8 turbo, probably the plug-in powertrain from the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and, just possibly, a full electric version using the powertrain from the Mission E.
All will be revealed on Tuesday when Porsche officially reveals the new Cayenne. Unless this leak prompts them to do so sooner.
