A sensible move for Citroen this, adding a cost-effective 7-seat option for the best-selling Berlingo MPV.
The new ‘Family-Pack’ adds a much-needed dose of practicality to the top selling Berlingo. The pack, which costs £800, can be fitted as an option on the VTR models with either the 1.6i or 1.6HDi engines.
Offering a total of five foldable and removable seats in the back (three in the middle and two at the back). But there is a bit of thought gone in to this – not just bunging a couple of extra seats in the boot. There are even airbags fitted at the sides for those extra rear-seat passengers – good to see.
Thankfully, the back seats do leave a usable, if modest, boot space of 100 liters, which grows to 470 litres with the back seats down, and a big 660 litres if all the seats are down.
Good news for those doing the school run, and for bigger families, this new 7-seat option should make the Berlingo even more popular. Not the best looking car around, the Berlingo is nevertheless a big seller in its sector. This will only add to the appeal.
