Bentley will unveil the Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition tonight at the opening of one of the world’s largest Bentley dealers in Beijing.

We already know that China is now the most important market for Bentley, and that Bentley provides the Queen with the Bentley State Limousine – a custom-built Bentley in Claret and Black.

Now, with the Queen celebrating her Diamond Jubilee, Bentley has found a way to pull all these threads together with the Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition, a run of 60 Special Edition Mulsannes to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee – one for each year of the reign of Elizabeth II.

The Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee will be unveiled tonight in Beijing when Bentley celebrate the opening of one of the world’s biggest Bentley dealerships in the Sanlitun district, ahead of a public debut for the Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee at next week’s Beijing Motor Show.

Bentley’s Mulliner division has created the Diamond Jubilee Special which gets a choice of paint jobs in red, white and blue (very patriotic) with hand-applied Single Fine Lines as a finishing touch together with Bentley ‘B’ badges on each ‘D’ pillar.

There are six paint options – Beluga over Claret (duo tone), Black Sapphire, Claret, Pale Sapphire over Black Sapphire (duo tone), Pale Sapphire, White Sand – and you can have leather in Linen, Burgundy and French Navy.

The interior also gets a pair of plain hide loose cushions with ‘Diamond Jubilee’ embroidery, Diamond Quilted, Perforated Seat Inserts & Door Panels, Lambswool Rugs and Diamond Jubilee Overlay to Fascia & Picnic Tables. All very Regal.

Under the bonnet is the usual 7.75 litre V8 with 505bhp and massive 752lb/ft of torque which delivers a very un-Regal 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 184mph.

We haven’t managed to elicit from Bentley a price for the Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition, but we’ll update when we do.
