The new SEAT Leon SC (3-door), which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show last month, will cost from £15,370 for the S 1.2TSI.

Not only is the Leon SC cheaper than the Hatch, SEAT has gone to some trouble to differentiate the two with the SC getting a lower roofline, more steeply raked windscreen and new tailgate, as well as being 35mm shorter. Despite which the Leon SC still has decent leg and head room in the back and a boot that’s as big as the Leon hatch.
Trim levels are as you would expect – S, SE and FR – with even the Leon SC S getting AirCon, Bluetooth and Sport seats.
Move up to the SC trim and you’ll get a leather steering wheel and gear knob, ambient lighting, chrome trim on the dash, cornering fogs, Cruise, 16″ alloys, XDS locking diff and hill hold. The Leon SC SE starts at £16,490 for the 1.2TSI SE.
Opt for the Leon SC with FR trim and you can add in 17″ alloys, new bumpers, twin chrome tailpipes, FR Sports seats, flat-bottomed steering wheel, Climate, LED tail lights, sports suspension and SEAT’s Drive Profile which offers three driving modes. The Leon SC FR costs from £19,085 for the FR1 1.4TSI
Diesel engine options are a 1.6 TDI 105 PS good for 74.2mpg and a 2.0 TDI 150PS that manages 68.9mpg, with petrol options the 1.2 TSI 105 PS at 57.6mpg, 1.4 TSI 140PS at 54.3mpg and the 1.8 TSI 180PS which deos 47.1mpg.
It’s a strong offering from SEAT at decent prices – and there’s more to come in the Leon range with the Leon Estate on the way.
The new SEAT Leon SC order book opens on 15th April with first Uk customer cars expected in July.

Makes more sense than a Golf.
Dave Price says
Strikes me that the Leon SC is better value than anything else comparable in the VW stable and better looking too.
