Overfinch – specialist modifiers of Land Rover’s best – are marking their 40th anniversary with a limited run of five very upmarket Defenders.

The world is populated with a seemingly endless array of companies who will modify and customise your Land Rover and Range Rover, but none have been around as long – or do as good a job – as Overfinch.

Overfinch has had its ups and downs over the years, but they now look strong and successful again and are celebrating their 40th anniversary with a limited run of just five Land Rover Defenders as Defender production finally comes to an end.

The upgrades Overfinch have chosen to endow the Defender with do push it very upmarket, but they’ve managed to do the modifications without making the iconic Defender look like mutton dressed as lamb.

There’s an Overefinch bonnet and grill, with LED running lights and spot lights for a bold front end, chequered plating on the side sills and rear quarter panels in black satin, machined aluminium fuel cap and door handles with Overfinch branding, 18-inch Apollo alloys in gloss black, LED rear lights and an electric tow bar.

The interior moves a long way from the Defender’s utilitarian roots, with leather trimmed Recaro seats (complete with 40th anniversary crest) and leather for the rear folding seats, headliner and dashboard top, new instrument dials, Alpine Sat Nav with Bluetooth, DAB and reversing camera.

The five vehicles have been skilfully designed to represent the history of our 40 years and the Defender’s heritage, while offering a contemporary feel with modern features tastefully and subtly integrated into the existing core of the car.

The Overfinch 40th Anniversary Defender is a very appealing Defender, even if its £70,000 price tag does make you wince a bit.
