VW VIDEO tease for CES debut – still looks like a new Camper Van / Microbus

Volkswagen has revealed a (very) short video tease for the concept they will unveil at the Consumer Electronics Show. The new VW Camper Van/Microbus?

A couple of weeks ago, Volkswagen released a teaser image for a new concept they’re taking to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January, and they’ve now followed that up with the first video tease (below).

As video teases go, it’s very short at just 10 seconds, but it does nothing to dissuade us from the opinion that this is the VW Camper Van for the 21st Century.

We already know that the concept features what VW are calling “affordable long distance electromobility“, so whether this is the new Camper Van or not it clearly comes with electric motors and battery power.

But if it is the new Camper Van, it is highly unlikely it will be offered – when it arrives in production guise – solely as an EV, and far more likely it will come with a variety of powertrains, including ICE and Hybrid variants.

The 2016 Consumer Electronics Show kicks off in Las Vegas on 6 January, so with just a week to go we’re expecting a bit more than just a tease video to come from VW very soon.
