The new Mercedes-Benz SLC – the facelifted SLK – goes on sale in the UK with a choice of four engines, two trim levels and prices from £30,495.
The 2016 Mercedes SLC was revealed just before Christmas – effectively a facelift for the SLK, complete with a new name – and now it’s going on sale in the UK with prices starting at £30,495 for the SLC 200.There are four engines on offer in the SLC, starting with the the 2.0 litre petrol SLC 200 with 181bhp and a standard manual gearbox, the same engine but with 241bhp and the 9G-TRONIC gearbox in the SLC 300, and the 2.1 litre diesel SLC 250d with 201bhp and emissions of a very respectable 114g/km.
The range topping Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 comes with the new 3.0 litre V6 biturbo engine, with 362bhp, 383lb/ft of torque and capable of 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds. And at prices from £46,355 it’s a chunk less than the previous SLK 55 AMG, which cost £55,350.
Trim choices are either Sport or AMG Line for the 200, 300 and 250d, with LED running lights, sports exhaust, sports pedals, LED tail lights, Active Brake Assist, Active Bonnet, Headlamp Assist and remote boot release all standard.
Sport models come with 17″ five-spoke alloys, and AMG Line with 18″ (which can be specced on the Sport), with the interior getting light carbon-grain trim (dark grain on the SLC 43).
If you want to dig deeper than standard spec you can, with stuff like the LED Intelligent Light System (£1150) and Keyless Go ((£765).
The spec for the AMG SLC 43 is a standalone spec, including nappa leather and Dinamica steering wheel with red stitching, Airscarf, Parktronic, LED Intelligent Light System, Garmin Map Pilot, AMG Sport Suspension, AMG Exhaust, AMG Handling Package and AMG Braking System all standard.
The Mercedes SLC range is now on sale at Mercedes’ UK dealers.
