2017 Nissan GT-R REVEALED - gets a facelift, better interior and 562bhp

The new Nissan GT-R has been revealed in New York as a facelift for the current car, with cosmetic updates, new interior and more power.

The ‘new’ Nissan GT-R was teased by Nissan just last week ahead of this debut at the New York Motor Show, and our assumption this would be a final facelift for the GT-R – rather than an all-new GT-R – were right, with Nissan unveiling a car that’s been titivated rather than renewed.

The exterior cosmetic updates are the usual facelift fodder, with the front getting a new grille with a Nissan family look, reworked bonnet and bumpers and new air vents, with wider sills at the side and a reworked bumper with new air vents at the back.

Inside, the new GT-R looks to have finally left behind its ‘Gamers Paradise’ feel, and instead has focussed on higher quality materials and doing something about the huge button count.

In comes a dash wrapped in leather, a new 8″ touchscreen in the centre with new air vents below and a new steering wheel with flappy paddles.

Under the skin, the GT-R’s twin-turbo V6 gets a boost to 562bhp and 470lb/ft of torque which improves performance higher up the rev range, new titanium exhaust, tweaked gearbox for quieter, smoother shifts, stiffer body and improved suspension.

The new Nissan GT-R is due to go on sale in the UK in the summer, but no prices have yet been announced.
