Mercedes-AMG tease a new car for Paris 2016
Mercedes-AMG has released a pair of teaser photos on Instagram showing a peek at the front and back of a new AMG, an AMG which looks like an electric crossover.
With the Paris Motor Show looming, many car makers have already started to tease what they will be displaying, whether that’s a new car or a concept. And now it’s the turn of Mercedes-AMG to promise something new for Paris.Appearing on the Mercedes-AMG Instagram account this morning, the two photos of a new AMG show both the front and back of the new car, with the promise that “A little big something is about to be revealed”.
The question is, what is that ‘Little Big Something?
Clearly, the photos show something which rides a little higher than other AMGs, so we must assume it’s a crossover or SUV of some description.
Looking at the photo of the back end, it’s also clear this is an AMG with a roof that folds, so we seem to be looking at some sort of high performance compact convertible SUV, perhaps the AMG take on a Range Rover Evoque Convertible? And, as Mercedes are very keen to get electric cars out there, a compact, urban, convertible AMG crossover could be the way to do it.
But of course all that is rubbish, because, although Mercedes aren’t saying, this is clearly a toy car, albeit one which looks properly finished and could well come with an electric motor.
We’ll find out more at the Paris Motor Show next weekend.
