The new Jaguar E-Pace configurator is already live on Jaguar’s website, where you can build and specify your perfect E-Pace – and it could cost £60k.

It’s just 48 hours since the new Jaguar E-Pace was revealed, but Jaguar are wasting no time reaching out to buyers, with the E-Pace configurator already live on Jaguar’s website.

And if what we’ve seen so far is anything to go by, the new E-Pace configurator is going to be working overtime as buyers flock to grab a car which is Jaguar’s best chance in a generation to set their sales alight.

With a design which may say Jaguar ‘Cub’ – but definitely doesn’t say ‘baby’ F-Pace as we’d expected – Jaguar has delivered a car which makes just about anything you would consider a challenge – Audi Q3, BMW X1, Mercedes GLA – look rather passé.

Jaguar has also cleverly pitched the E-Pace at a starting price of just £28,500, which is exactly where the X1 starts, a couple of grand more than the GLA and a grand more than the Q3.

But that headline starting price will only buy you the entry-level E-PAce D150 manual with front-wheel drive. If you want your E-Pace to be properly appealing you will need to dig somewhat deeper.

Opt for the D180 with nine-speed auto and 4WD and you’ll be spending £32,550, and if you want the high-spec E-Pace HSE you’ll need to find £42,200. Add the R-Dynamic Pack to that and you’re at £44,450.

If you want to go for the E-Pace First Edition then the starting point is the D180 4WD auto at £47,800, and the P250 petrol will break the £50k barrier at £50,160. For the non-First Edition models, you’ll pay £50,710 for the P300 R-Dynamic HSE.

Of course, all the prices are before you start bothering the options list, with special paint adding £1,225, 21″ alloys up to £930, Panoramic Roof £970, TV £870, and Adaptive Dynamics £820. Make an effort and you can spend more than £60k.

But all that said, Jaguar has been clever with the pricing, ensuring there’s good headlines to grab the interest of buyers (Jaguar expect 80 per cent of E-Pace buyers to be new to the brand) and a big spread of specs and options to optimise their bottom line.

It’s been said before about new Jaguars, but the E-Pace really does look like it’ll be a game changer.
