Volkswagen T-Roc SUV goes on sale in the UK with a limited range from £20,425

A limited range of new Volkswagen T-Roc SUVs go on sale in the UK today (3 October 2016) with prices from £20,425 to £31,485. More models to follow in December.

Volkswagen’s plan to take the fight to the Nissan Qashqai arrived in the shape of the VW T-Roc in the summer, and now the T-Roc goes on sale in the UK from £20,425.

VW are doing a rather odd roll-out of the T-Roc, with just 1,000 available initially, limited trim and engine options and the promise of free running boards. That should get you running to VW’s showrooms.

When you arrive at your local VW showroom you’ll get the option of a T-Roc SE with the 1.0 litre or 1.5 litre TSI, the T-Roc Design with the same two engine options and the T-Roc SEL with the 1.5 TSI or 2.0 187bhp TSI with 4MOTION and DSG (all the others are FWD with a manual gearbox).

All T-Roc models get Climate, 8″ Media Infotainment, Bluetooth, DAB, 16″ alloys, Auto Post Collision Braking, Lane Assist, Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitoring and City emergency Braking, with more as you move up the trim options, with Design models looking to offer the most customisation.

You will also be able to option high end stuff like electric tailgate, panoramic roof, Vienna Leather, wireless phone charging and more.

Volkswagen seem to think pent-up demand for the T-Roc is so strong they’re doing the right thing by offering a limited range of models and engines, and just 1,000 units available, to get buyers in showrooms now and on the road in a new T-Roc before Christmas.

Frankly, we’d rather wait for the full range of models and engines – and options – to arrive before jumping in.
