Nissan Micra is the best ‘First Car’ you can buy
The Nissan Micra has won the inaugural FirstCar Awards top gong, being voted the best first car for a new driver. Wins too for Ford, Citroen, VW, Renault and Toyota.
FirstCar has been around for a decade advising young and new drivers on how the world of driving and car owning works, so they reckoned it was time to hold an awards event to recognise the best cars for new drivers, the best driving schools and the best products. The inaugural ‘FirstCar Awards’ have now been held at a proper ‘do’ at the RAC in Pall Mall, and it’s seen a raft of awards going to a range of car makers with the aim of guiding new drivers in the right direction when choosing their first car.
The top gong – Car of the Year – went to the Nissan Micra, with FirstCar’s David Motton saying:
You couldn’t want for a better first car than the Micra. With low insurance group ratings and a range of efficient engines, the Nissan is affordable to run. It’s also equipped with the kind of safety features you’d expect of a much bigger and more expensive car.
Other awards went to the Citroen C3 (Driving Instructor Car of the Year), Renault Zoe (Green Car), VW Polo (Safe Car), Ford Fiesta (Best Used Car) and Toyota in general for its Safety Sense technology.
Which pretty much covers all the bases.
