Bugatti DIVO back for another tease ahead of this week’s debut

The Bugatti Divo – a coachbuilt and more dynamic take on the Chiron – is back for what is probably a final tease ahead of its debut this week at The Quail.

At the start of July, we had the first tease for a new Bugatti – the Bugatti Divo – which, although a Chiron under the skin, is said by Bugatti to be a hypercar with a focus on dynamism rather than outright speed.

At the end of July we got another tease for the Divo, although that gave little away either, and in between there have been a series of eight talking head videos we didn’t run as they really added nothing to the story.

Now, with the debut of the Vivo planned fore this week, we get the most revealing view yet of the Divo, with the image above showing its shape under a cover, and we can work out it’s quite different from the Chiron.

Marking Bugatti’s return to ‘coachbuilding’, the Divo gets a new body on Chiron underpinnings, and you can clearly see a big fixed back wing, and a bracing fin, and lines running up the side quite different to the Chiron.

Bugatti aren’t saying what powers the Divo, but it’s unlikely to be anything other than the Chiron’s massive 1479bhp lump, but designed to be more responsive to match the lower weight and dynamism the Divo promises.

All is set to be revealed at The Quail on 24 August, with each of the 40 Divos costing €5 million.
