New Renault Kadjar goes on sale in the UK in January
The Renault Kadjar SUV has been given a bit of a facelift for 2019, and it goes on sale in the UK in January with prices starting at £20,595.
It’s more than three years since the Renault Kadjar arrived to slot in to Renault’s range above the Captur and give the French car maker a head-start with a new SUV based on the incredibly successful Nissan Qashqai.Three years on it’s time for a bit of a titivate for the Kadjar, so it arrives on sale in the UK with some minor cosmetic changes, a bit more tech and an updated engine line-up. Typical facelift fodder.
There are now four trim levels – Play, Iconic, S-Edition and GT Line – with standard kits including a 7″ touchscreen, LED running lights, rear parking sensors and auto lights and wipers.
Move up from the entry-level Kadjar Play to the mid-range S-Edition and you also get LED headlights, skid plates and a panoramic roof – and blue stitching on the upholstery, with GT Line getting leather, heated seats, 360 camera and panoramic roof.
The cosmetic tweaks are what is expected for a facelift, with tweaked lights, refreshed grille and front and rear bumpers made to look a bit more upmarket.
Inside it’s mostly about ergonomics and quality – what Renault are calling “a more contemporary design and improvements in perceived quality” – including a new centre console and new seats.
Engine options now include Renault’s 1.3 litre turbo petrol with 138bhp or 158bhp, and cleaner versions of the 1.5 litre and 1.7 litre diesel with a bit more power.
The updated Renault Kadjar goes on sale in the UK on 3 January 2019 with prices starting ate £20,595 for the Kadjar Play TCe 140, rising to £29,995 for the Kadjar GT Line Blue dCi 150 4/4.
