The Skoda Vision iV Concept – an electric SUV
The Skoda Vision iV is teased with a design sketch ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show as an electric future SUV / Crossover.
The headline car news for Skoda at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show will doubtless be the new Kamiq SUV, but Skoda are also taking a concept which previews a future SUV – the Skoda Vision iV.This looks a bit like take two for an electric Skoda SUV, with the Vision iV looking very similar to the Vision E Concept we saw in Shanghai two years ago. We must assume Skoda are definitely planning something along these lines as a production model.
Skoda has previously said they would deliver a pair of electric SUVs, one a regular SUV and one a more lifestyle product, and looking at the sketch of the Vision iV Skoda has released (above), it does look like this is the ‘Lifestyle’ Coupe-ish model – even allowing for artistic licence.
Skoda describes the Vision iV as having an athletic body, wide arches, coupe-like roofline and cameras instead of door mirrors. It’s also built on VW’s electric MEB platform.
Assuming this is a much closer look at Skoda’s production intent for a pair of electric SUVs, they will fit in between the Karoq and Kodiaq in size and arrive in 2021.
Although we have time for another concept before then.
