Skoda's Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs get a bit of a facelift

Skoda’s Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs get a bit of a facelift

The Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs are getting a bit of a facelift, with some styling tweaks, new technology and SKODA writ large.

It doesn’t seem five minutes since Skoda didn’t have a single SUV in its lineup, but as is the modern way they now have a whole heap of ‘K’ model SUVs to tempt buyers.

Now it’s time to give the firts two of Skoda’s SUV offerings a bit of a makeover to bring them in line with what’s changed at Skoda since they arrived, so the Kodiaq and Karoq are getting a few nips and tucks to keep them current and appealing.

Skoda seem most pleased with the arrival of S.K.O.D.A. writ large on the tailgate, just like the latest Skoda arrivals, for the Karoq and Kodiaq, but there is a bit more going on than just some new stick-on chrome letters.

Skoda has turbocharged their Blind Spot Assist with the arrival of Side Assist, which increases the detection range from 20 to 70 meters, and its signalling to the driver is made more obvious,

The (optional) adaptive chassis already available on the 4WD variants can now be had on front-wheel drive versions of both the Kodiaq and Karoq too, which will automatically adjust damping or allow drivers to choose their own setting with a choice of three modes.

The Karoq can also now be had with Skoda’s 187bhp 2.0 litre diesel (already available in the Kodiaq) and temperature-regulating leather, TPM is now an option if you spec 18″ alloys or bigger.

You can now option KESSY, a key fob that turns itself off after 15 minutes of inactivity to help prevent signal-grabbing thefts, for the Kodiaq and Karoq.

But why is it an option?
