CUPRA teases high-riding ELECTRIC Coupe Concept
Cupra, the performance bit of SEAT that’s now a standalone brand, teases an electric high-riding coupe concept ahead of a reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show may seem a way off yet, but it’s only a couple of months to go so we can start expecting car makers to tease their goodies for the show. Like CUPRA.CUPRA, the now standalone SEAT Performance brand, has a new electric car concept heading for Frankfurt, quelle surprise, and the tease for its arrival starts today with an image (above) of the new CUPRA half showing as a reflection.
Cupra say this new electric concept will combine high performance and an advanced electric powertrain complete with emotional design, with the presence of an SUV and the sleekness of a Coupe. So it’s a high-riding Coupe with the batteries under the floor.
Cupra say the concept gets vents at the front to improve efficiency and range, and that the lack of tail pipes allows the rear diffuser to deliver functional aerodynamics and an elegant rear light spanning the width of the car.
There are no details yet of what the powertrain for this electric Cupra Concept comprises, but expect it to use VW’s new electric MEB Platform, probably an electric motor front and back and have some half decent performance.
No doubt further teases before Frankfurt will reveal more detail.
