Volvo Main Dealer to open first POLESTAR Space in London

A Volvo main dealer, Endeavour Automotive, will open the first Polestar Space in London as Polestar rolls out its sales operations in the UK.

The new Polestar 2 was revealed earlier this year as Polestar moves in to the mainstream, if mainstream is the right word, of electric car makers, having made its initial claim to the EV market with the impressive plug-in hybrid Polestar 1.

But the Polestar 2 is a different kettle of fish to the Polestar 1, promising serious competition to the Tesla Model 3 with prices likely to start from around £35k when Polestar gets past its £50k launch edition.

But what Polestar are also doing is changing the way their cars are sold, with slick ‘Polestar Places’ due to open up around the globe, with the first in Europe opening last month in Oslo (pictured above).

Polestar Places are planned for city centre locations to be where the potential buyers pass in droves, delivering slick presentations by non-commission experts and the sales process handled not by the dealer but by an App.

Now we know the first Polestar Place in the UK will be in London, and it will be operated by a Volvo main dealer, Endeavour Automotive, which already has Volvo outlets in London, as well as Hyundai ones.

Using an existing Volvo main dealer for a new type of sales model for Polestar may seem counter-intuitive, but as well as having plenty of knowledge of Volvos, which is essentially what Polestar cars are, Endeavour also has experience of the retail environment sales model with Hyundai’s Westfield Stratford City outlet, which offers a similar experience to the Polestar Places model.

Expect to see the new Polestar Space in London opening in the New Year.
