Renault Zoe is the Driving Electric Car of the Year
The new Renault Zoe is the Driving Electric Car of the Year – and best small electric car too – with other awards for Jaguar, Kia, Tesla and more.
What’s the best electric car on the market, you may ask. Well, that very much depends on your needs and budget, but there are more and more very able electric cars on the market to suit every budget (well, from a fairly high starting point) and needs. So the Car of the Year awards by Driving Electric are a good starting point to see what’s on offer and might suit. This year (well, Driving Electric call these the 2020 awards) it’s the new Renault Zoe grabbing the top gong from last year’s winner, the Kia e-Niro, as well as the award for the best small electric car.
Driving electric say the Zoe is the standout electric car for 2020 offering a big range, a good drive and terrific equipment at a sensible price, offering the best all-round package in an EV.
Other award winners include the Kia Soul EV as the best medium EV, Jaguar I-Pace as the best Premium EV, Tesla Model 3 as the best performance EV, Honda e as the best EV tech and the Nissan LEAF as the best used EV.
On the hybrid front awards went to the Volvo XC90 T8 as the best electrified seven-seater, Toyota Prius as the best used hybrid, Mitsubishi Outlander as the best used PHEV, Lexus RX 450h as the best Premium hybrid, Toyota Corolla Touring Sports as the best medium hybrid, BMW X5 xDrive 45e as the best Premium Plug-in, BMW 330e as the best medium PHEV and Mercedes A 250 e as the best small plug-in.
And there really isn’t a bad car amongst them.
