Mitsubishi has updated the Evo X in Japan for 2010 with some very minor cosmetic tweaks and the deletion of the manual ‘box option on the GSR Premium Edition
As updates to Japanese cars are usually launched in Japan before they make their way round the world, it’s always a good idea to keep an eye on what’s going on in Japan to get a preview of what’s coming here. So we thought it worth a look when we got an email saying Mitsubishi had updated the Evo X for 2010 in Japan. But these updates to the Evo X are so small and insignificant they hardly constitute an update at all. Mitsubishi has added slightly beefier side skirts and lower weight plastics for the front. Lower by all of 3.5 lbs. They’ve put a new colour LCD screen in the middle of the instrument panel and some very minor trim tweaks.
The Evo X also loses the five-speed manual option and all 2010 Evo X models will get the six-speed, twin-clutch SST ‘box. And that’s about it. All it will really do is make the 2009 models worth less on the used car market rather than bringing anything of value to the 2010 version.
Not really worth the effort.
