Apollo Intensa Emozione (Apollo IE) REVEALED
The Apollo Intensa Emozione (Apollo IE) arrives as a Ferrari-powered track only hypercar with 796bhp and a £2 million price tag. Just 10 IEs being built.
Back in July, when Apollo Automobil teased the arrival of this – the Apollo Intensa Emozione (Apollo IE) – we were able to exclusively reveal it would be powered by a naturally aspirated Ferrari V12. And it is, even if Apollo aren’t saying so.
The 6.3 litre V12 delivers 796bhp of raw, turbo and hybrid -free power along with 560lb/ft of torque and will get to 62mph in just 2.7 seconds and on to 207mph. Although it’s about sticking to the track, not its top speed.
The IE weighs just 1250Kg thanks to a carbon fibre chassis and carbon fibre tub, gets an enormous front splitter, dive planes, umpteen vents, gigantic back wing and more clever aerodynamics to deliver 1350 kg of downforce.
With all that at its disposal, the IE thankfully comes with impressive stopping power courtesy of Brembo ceramic brakes, and race-inspired suspension with double wishbone rocker arms front and back, adjustable roll bars and adjustable Bilstein dampers.
Gearchange is by way of a six speed Hewland sequential ‘box with interchangeable ratios – which will need manual intervention to get it in play.
Inside is a symphony in red, with the seats glued directly to the carbon fibre tub (don’t worry, the steering wheel and pedal box come to meet you), a digital instrument cluster, cameras in the wing mirrors – and Air Con.
The Apollo IE is as extreme and old school as you can get, and Apollo are building just 10 of these monsters, each costing €2.3 million (around £2 million).
But if you buy one, you’ll be first in line to be the road-going version of the IE when that arrives.
How can you resist such an offer?
