The Hyundai Tucson – Hyundai’s best-selling model in the UK and Europe – gets a facelift with new looks and more tech. Revealed at the New York Motor Show, it’s on sale in the UK summer 2018.
The Hyundai Tucson is Hyundai’s best-selling model in the UK and Europe, and for good reasons. It’s well built, very capable, decent looking and affordable. Oh, and it also comes with Hyundai’s five-year warranty.
Having moved the game on from the ix35, the Tucson now gets a facelift for 2018 – revealed this week at the New York Motor Show – to make it even more appealing, with a refreshed look and additional tech.
The makeover for the Tucson follows the familiar facelift theme, which means new lights at the front – they’re LED headlights now – and Hyundai’s cascading grille, a titivated front bumper, new skid plate, new tail lights, new exhaust tip, new rear bumper and new alloys.
Inside there’s a sound system by Krell on offer, wireless phone charging, a 7″ infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth (8″ screen with 3D Nav and seven-year subscription to Live services optional), Surround View Monitor with 360 cameras, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise, High Beam Assist and Driver Attention warning.
There’s a choice of four engine options for the new Tucson, with the 2.0 litre diesel boasting 184bhp and 4WD with a six-speed manual or eight-speed auto, a 1.5 litre diesel with either 113bhp or 131bhp – with 4WD and seven-speed DCT available on the 131bhp version – a 1.6 litre petrol with 130bhp, FWD and six-speed manual and a 1.6 litre T-GDI with 175bhp which can be had with FWD or 4WD with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT.
The 2018 Hyundai Tucson will be revealed in UK spec in the coming weeks, and will go on sale here in the summer.
