Lotus Evora Sport 410 in homage to the Bond Esprit
Lotus has built a one-off Evora Sport 410 which pays homage to the Esprit S1 from the James Bond film Live and Let Die to promote Lotus Exclusive.
Lotus hasn’t had an easy time of late, but it finally looks to be back on track and on the way to profitability, helped by sane management making the most of tweaking existing product. That should change as new Lotus cars (SUVs are a certainty) start to arrive which, hopefully, will be truly competitive and true to the Lotus ethos.
Seemingly in preparation for the time when well-heeled petrolheads once again beat a path to Hethel, Lotus has a customisation department called Lotus Exclusive which will do to your new Lotus whatever your bank account will allow.
To demonstrate its abilities, Lotus Exclusive has created this one-off Evora Sport 410 which pays more than a passing nod to perhaps the most famous of Lotus’s cars – the Esprit S1 which turned in to a submarine in Live and Let Die.
The Sport 410 stays the same under the skin but comes with a white paint job with black keyline running down the flanks, an Evora badge on the B-pillar using the S1’s font, tartan inserts in the seats and a wooden gear knob.
It’s not in the league of something like Eric Clapton’s Ferrari SP12 – based on a 458 but paying homage to the Ferrari BB – but it’s a good-looking piece of kit, and serves to demonstrate that Lotus are prepared to play to please a customer.
And it’ll make them money.
