The new McLaren 675 LT is fully revealed ahead of its debut at the 205 Geneva Motor Show as a properly hardcore take on the McLaren Super Series 650S.
The McLaren 675 LT (Long Tail) has been slowly teased by McLaren as it heads to Geneva as a stripped-out, hardcore take on the 650S; McLaren’s ‘458 Speciale‘. But now, with Geneva just a week away, McLaren has properly taken the wraps of the 675LT.
The new engine – which even gets its own codename, M838TL – delivers not just 666bhp (25bhp up on the 650S) but 516lb/ft of torque (up 16lb/ft) and is mated to the same seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox as the 650S. The result is a 0-62mph of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 205mph.
The visual changes to the 675LT don’t make it look significantly different to the 650S, but the front bumper is restyled and there’s a new front splitter, and round the back the Long Tail airbrake is 50 per cent bigger and the air intakes on the sides are bigger. The body of the 675LT is carbon fibre – contributing to the LT’s 100kg weight loss.

The interior also gets tweaked, with the 650S’s seats being replaced with carbon fibre bucket seats – Alcantara trimmed – which are much the same as those in the P1, there’s a 675LT logo on the headrests and the rev counter and the Air Con controls move to the infotainment touchscreen.
The McLaren 675LT looks likely to cost around £250,000 and will be offered in five ‘By McLaren’ hero specifications which include four bespoke colours – Silica White, Delta Red, Napier Green and Chicane Grey – as well as the heritage McLaren Orange.
