Over the weekend we had a teaser video from AMG for the GLA 45 AMG Concept, although Mercedes didn’t actually name it as such.
The GLA 45 AMG Concept gets bold graphics – something buyers would be unlikely to want – and 21″ forged alloys painted matt black with a red rim and red brake callipers to shout its intent.
There’s a big gloss black front splitter, black air deflector flicks and big air intakes at the front with a twin blade grill in silver chrome, high gloss black roof rails and a big back spoiler.
But unlike many overtly sporty looking compact SUVs, the GLA 45 AMG will be able to walk the walk with the 355bhp 2.0 litre petrol turbo driving all four wheels and enough to get the GLA to 62 mph in under 5 seconds.
The Mercedes GLA 45 AMG is likely to arrive in production guise in spring 2014 for around £40,000.
