Jeep has announced a new Trailhawk ‘Trail-Rated’ version of the Cherokee to the UK for 2015 offering more robust off-road credentials. Costs from £34,245.

If you want a vehicle with a real depth of off-road abilities, Jeep is up there with Land Rover. And now there’s a new ‘Trail Rated’ version of the new Cherokee SUV that promises to do more off-road than any other Cherokee – the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.
To get a ‘Trail Rated’ badge from Jeep, the Cherokee has to perform in five key categories – traction, ground clearance, manoeuvrability, articulation and water fording – and the Cherokee Trailhawk is well-equipped to tackle all five with stuff like Active Drive Lock to lock the back diff and Selec Speed control to maintain steady speeds.
The suspension has also been lifted by an inch for better clearance and to improve approach and departure angles, gets skid plates to protect the underside and signature red tow hooks.
Cosmetically, the Cherokee Trailhawk gets 17″ alloys, coloured grill surrounds, roof rails, Nappa leather, red stitching, cargo net and an 8.4″ media screen with USB.

The Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is now on sale through Jeep’s special order programme in the UK from £34,245, although you can spend more if you opt for stuff like special paint jobs, Park Assist, full sunroof, wireless charging pad or Nav.
