New Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe gets an ‘Edition 1’
The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe – really, a replacement for the CLS 63 – gets a range-topping First Edition model for when it officially goes on sale in the summer.
No one loves a revenue-garnering ‘First Edition’ option for new cars more than Mercedes and AMG, so you won’t be too surprised to learn that the recently revealed, and clumsily named, Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is going the ‘Edition 1’ route too.Available only in the most powerful, and expensive, 63 S guise, the Edition 1 AMG 4-door will be shown this weekend at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring before it actually goes on sale in the summer, replete with many expensive AMG options in the price.
For the exterior that means the AMG Aerodynamics Pack with bigger front splitter and integrated flics, enhanced diffuser and a fixed back spoiler with a mechanically adjustable blade, a choice of designo paint jobs – grey magno, diamond white bright or graphite grey – AMG sports stripes and 21″ AMG matt black alloys.
Inside you get AMG Performance seats with memory, grey/black Nappa leather seats with yellow contrast stitching, AMG Performance Steering Wheel, matt carbon trim, yellow seat belts, lots of Nappa leather covering surfaces, Air-Balance Package for nice smells and custom floor mats.
But even though the First Edition is the top of the heap, and with the most powerful 630bhp V8, you will still be able to spend money on options like AMG Night Package, Exterior Carbon Fibre and Ceramic Brakes.
Mercedes hasn’t come up with a price for the First Edition yet, but expect it to be north of £125k.
