Nissan e-NV200 electric van gets a headline starting price of £13,393

Nissan has revealed that the price for its new electric van – the Nissan e-NV200 – will be just £13,393 as it plans an electric revolution in commercial vehicles.

We’ve always been reluctant to see the electric car as a proper replacement for an ICE car, but an electric van for commercial deliveries in a reasonably confined area is a different animal altogether.

So the arrival of the Nissan e-NV200 electric van is a big deal and could revolutionise how deliveries are made in our towns and cities, usefully shifting not just CO2, but NoX and particulates off to where the electricity is generated and making much less noise too.

What is a bit of a surprise is that Nissan are offering the e-NV200 from just £13,393 (after the taxpayer grant for electric vans, which offers 20 per cent discount up to a maximum of £8k) although you will have to pay a battery lease on top.

That means an extra cost each month ranging from £61 on a 3 year deal with less than 6,000 miles a year up to £106 for 15,000 miles on a one year deal, or you can pay more (from £16,562) and not have to pay battery lease costs.

There’s a range of trim levels available from the entry-level Acenta up to the Tekna Rapid Plus (£16,155 plus battery lease) and all prices are plus VAT (which won’t matter for most businesses).

Also on offer is the Combi version with seating for five (which costs a bit more – from £17,855 to £21,035 plus battery lease) and which also points to the likely costing of Nissan’s electric Black Taxi which will arrive before too long.

With tried and trusted electrics straight from the Nissan LEAF, low running costs, low service costs and a usage that is limited by delivery area, the Nissan e-NV200 electric van is very fit for purpose.
