Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition
Nissan is celebrating all things GT-R with the Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition to celebrate its half century. And it’s available in classic Bayside Blue.
The Nissan GT-R is 50 years old this year, so naturally Nissan want to celebrate with a special model. And here it is – the Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition.
Nissan has chosen to make the 50th Anniversary GT-R available, principally, in classic Bayside Blue, although you can have it in white or silver (but you wouldn’t want that). Bayside Blue is the classic Skyline colour, and a colour the GT-R hasn’t been available in since 2002. Unfortunately, it has white stripes too, but we’re sure Nissan will delete them if you really want.
Aside from the paint job, there are actual proper updates too, and although the 3.8 litre V6 still delivers a healthy 565bhp it is also a bit less laggy thanks to new turbos which increase responsiveness at low revs and comes with optimised fittings to the manifolds so tuners can play more easily.
The six-speed dual-clutch ‘box gets a refined R-Mode with quicker downshifts with gear selection happening under ABS for reduced understeer and more feel, and there’s a new Titanium silencer with titanium finishers and blue exhaust tips.
Inside there’s a special grey theme which, say Nissan, imbues the cabin with a sense of luxury “reminiscent of the atmosphere of the night sky after the twilight hour”, a unique steering wheel and gear knob trim, special seat embossing and Alcantara headliner and sunvisors.
No prices yet for the Nissan GT-R 50th, but expect it to be heading for £100k.
