Pagani Huayra ‘BC’ teased – it’s a ‘Hardcore Huayra’
A new hardcore version of the Pagana Huayra – the Huayra BC – is being teased by Pagani ahead of an expected debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
It’s almost exactly five years since Cars UK exclusively revealed the first photo of the Pagani Huayra – Pagani’s replacement for the Zonda – and things in the hypercar world have moved on a lot in that time, even if the Huayra really hasn’t.In fact, and despite a huge price tag, the Huayra seems to have stood still whilst the rest of the hypercar market has made great strides.
The current triumvirate of hypercars – the Porsche 918, McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari – all embarrass the Huayra in performance terms, and as a result they all seem absolute bargains, with a price tag less than Horacio Pagani’s car – and real pedigree.
Still, Pagani look set to try and change the embarrassing gap in performance between the Huayra and other £1 million hypercars with a new model. No, not the anticipated Huayra Roadster, but what we assume is a more hardcore Huayra.
Pagani has posted a tease for its new creation (above) on its Facebook page, together with the hashtag #HuayraBC, which we assume indicates the new car will be the Huayra BC.
The ‘BC’ boasts a huge rear wing – and we assume further aerodynamic additions, weight shedding with more carbon fibre and a boost top the 720bhp or so its V12 currently delivers.
But it’s going to have to be a lot more to make any sense at a price that will no doubt move up considerably, and even if the hypercars from Porsche, McLaren and Ferrari are now all but unobtainable, anyone looking for an individual hypercar from a credible maker should be looking a bit further north. We’d suggest Sweden. And the creations of Christian von Koenigsegg.
More on the Huayra BC when we get it.
