SEAT does like to produce a ‘Sporty’ car, and has just revealed details of two new additions to its range – The SEAT Leon Cupra and The SEAT Ibiza FR.
The Cupra is the top of the hot tree in the SEAT world, and so the new SEAT Leon Cupra will sit ahead of the Leon FR. With 240bhp and a 0-60 of around 6.4 seconds this is a quick car. The Cupra gets a set of 18″ alloy wheels, lower suspension, a different grill and door mirrors and a chromed tailpipe. Inside you get a set of racing bucket seats, a half-decent CD with MP3 connection and cruise control. To add to the mix you also get a plethora of driver aids including ESP, ABS, XDS and a raft of airbags.
The 7 speed SEAT Ibiza FR gets a DSG ‘box to row its 150bhp along nicely. The Ibiza also gets the XDS system (which plays games with the brakes to aid handling and grip). Changes to the nose are similar to those on the Cupra, but you get silver mirrors instead of black and a pair of shiny exhausts.
Both the SEAT Leon Cupra and the SEAT Ibiza FR will be launched officially at the Barcelona Motor Show next month. No word on prices yet.
