The Ares Design Panther, a custom supercar evoking the De Tomaso Pantera and based on the Lamborghini Huracan, is revealed.
It was at the end of 2017 when Ares Design – the new vehicle for former Ferrari and Lotus man Dany Bahar – revealed they were planning to build a tribute to the De Tomaso Pantera based on Lamborghini Huracan underpinnings. Which is an interesting mix.
Fast forward to last summer, and Ares revealed their Project Panther testing on the road in suitable black and white camouflage and news that the output of the donor Huracan had been upped to 650bhp.
Now it appears Ares have done all the testing they need to and the final Ares Design Panther – the first of 21 Panthers planned – is done and dusted. And, we have to say, it looks mighty fine to us.
Ares has manged to evoke the Panther without creating a pastiche in the process, with the longer and narrower Ares Panther looking just right, and the pop-up headlights not looking at all incongruous. And they’re full LEDs too.
Inside the Huracan donor car is more obvious thanks to the dash layout, but Ares are happy to trim it as you like, and add to the price of £500k in the process.
Although the planned run of 21 cars is apparently already spoken for, it seems unlikely Ares will decline if you offer to throw money their way.
