The Audi S5 Cabriolet is now available to order in the UK

Audi released details of the Audi S5 Cabriolet back in February, promising the S5 Cab would be in showrooms by the Spring. Still, with the weather we’ve been having in July, I suppose you can forgive Audi for thinking it’s Spring, not the height of Summer.

So the order book is now open for the Audi S5 Cabriolet in the UK, even though first customer cars won’t arrive until October. Which does seem a bit of a cock-up. Who is going to buy a cabriolet – even a very sorted, draught-free cabriolet – in October? Surely you’d wait until next Spring – or get it out for this Spring, as promised. Odd timing.

But the S5 Cabriolet is a lot more than just a rag-top. It’s a very quick, very stylish and very well made car that offers a completely enticing package for the keen driver who likes the top down from time to time. It effectively replaces the S4 Cabriolet, and brings Audi’s four-seat cabriolet bang up to date in the process

The Audi S5 Cabriolet features the 3.0 litre Supecharged lump from the S4, producing 333bhp with 4wd, sports suspension, bigger wheels and the usual ‘S’ bits and pieces. It will get to 62 mph in 5.6 seconds and on to a limited 155mph. It also manages a combined mpg of 29.1 mpg.

As already stated, Audi are now taking orders in the UK for the S5 Cabriolet. Prices start at £42,245
