A top luxury car finance house has revealed that the Range Rover Evoque is now the most popular financed car.
In the first year on sale, the Evoque racked up sales of 18,000 and so in demand is the Evoque that Land Rover are even resorting to trying to block grey market sales.
And now Bridford – one of the UK’s biggest luxury car finance specialist – has revealed that the Evoque has become their most popular car to finance in the year since it was launched.
Tim Marlow, Bridford boss, said:
It is the car we finance the most in terms of volume, having overtaken models such as the Audi Q7.
Its pricing point plays a key role as it has enticed many new customers to upgrade from smaller ticket vehicles; very few are scaling down from cars like the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
The key bit of that statement is that the Evoque appears to be encouraging buyers to trade-up from less ‘Premium’ brands rather than trading down from a full size Range Rover or similar.
That fits in with Land Rover’s assertion that it’s new buyers flocking in to the Evoque, with an astonishing 90 per cent new to the brand during the first year of sales.
And if you want to build a brand, new customers are the key.
