We have the first photo of the 2014 Range Rover Sport as Land Rover’s latest take on a sporty Range Rover leaks out ahead of its debut.
Land Rover aren’t going to be exactly chuffed.
The 2014 Range Rover Sport – the third new model in Land Rover’s new car assault – has leaked out ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show later this month, thanks to our friends at Jalopnik.
Looking pretty much as we expected – the love child of a new Range Rover and an Evoque – It gets a cross between the new Range Rover and Evoque’s front end and a take on the Evoque’s sloping roof line.
Land Rover are launching the new Range Rover Sport in New York for the simple reason that, despite the new RRS having Land Rover abilities off-road, the more compact dimensions of the Sport find favour in the urban jungle. And New York is the biggest single market for the Range Rover Sport.
Now the first photo of the new RRS is out in the wild, we’ll either get a phone call from Land Rover – or the official details.
Let’s see which.

It still looks like a WAGs car to me!

Wasn’t it a bit of a silly move by Land Rover to send the new Range Rover Sport off to an outside supplier to tint the windows when they wanted it keep it under wraps? I bet Ferrari didn’t risk it with La Ferrari!
Dave Price says
Seems like these pictures are now everywhere (although Cars UK look to have been ahead of most as we expect!) having been posted online by a window tinting company (tintdude.com) in the States working for Land Rover, so you won’t get that phone call this time!!
I reckon the window tinting firm won’t be getting much Land Rover business in the future!

I find myself strangely attracted to the Sport. Not as cumbersome as the full sized Range Rover nor as fey as the Evoque. PLEASE let it drive like an X5 or Cayenne on road, because if it does it could be truly great.
JOHNATHAN says
That sucks!
Ryan says
looks to much like the evoque to make it worth the extra money,
there not offering in it with a 7 seat option either.
pointless really.
But well done on getting the photos.
Cars UK says
We think it probably will have a 7 seat option
Ryan says
it would be great if it did, I’ve run discos for the last seven years and as much as they have been a pleasure to own and live with it would be nice to have something a little
more sporty but still offering the owner 7 seats if required
Mercedes62 says
Prices? Engines? Depending on that it could be very special.
Cars UK says
More than the old RRS, less than the Range Rover. Engines will be 3.0 diesel (V6 S/C in petrol loving countries), 5.0 S/C and, we hope, the 4.4 V8 diesel. Probably a hybrid to come and maybe even a smaller lump too.

I like 2014 Range Rover Sport Leaks
Dave Price says
Thumbs up from me.
Tramp 12 is right, how it drives is what really matters. Can it do a sub 5 second 0-62mph with the 5,0 supercharger like the Cayenne Turbo?
Tramp12 says
Probably not the most flattering photo but it looks OK. Pleased to see Land Rover hasn’t gone too far in changing the Sport but what really matters is how it drives. That will define if its a triumph not how it looks.

Lets hope the suspension “knock” has been sorted ? Looks good to me.
