2015 Infiniti Q70 gets new 2.2 litre diesel – costs from £32,650
The new Infinit Q70 – Infiniti’s pitch at taking a share of the market enjoyed by the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 – arrived at the Paris Motor Show in October with cosmetic tweaks making it look a bit more chiselled and purposeful and new LED lights giving it a family resemblance to the Q50.
Despite being a full 70bhp (168bhp) down on the old 3.0 litre diesel, the new 2.2 litre diesel can get to 62mph in 8.9 seconds – driven through a standard seven-speed auto box – and on to 137mph, whilst it’s economy and emissions are much improved at 57.6mpg and 129g/km.
Te new Q70 Premium 2.2d costs from £32,650 and comes equipped with full LED headlights, a bit of chrome on the grill, rear-view camera, parking sensors, Connectiviti+ SatNav, 18″ alloys and leather seats.
There’s also a Sport trim level which gets added butch for the bumpers, better brakes and 20″ alloys and a Tech Pack option which adds Safety Shield, Bose, Around View Monitoring and Forest AirCon.
Other engine options, in addition to the new 2.2d, are the Hybrid, which is now a bit quicker (0-62mph in 5.3 seconds) and a bit more efficient (emissions are now 145g/km), and the 3.7 litre V6.
But it’s the new Infiniti Q70 2.2d that will be the seller.
