The first petrol-engined Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion has gone on sale in the UK from £14,730, offering 68.9mpg and emissions of 94g/km from its 1.0 TSI.

The 2015 VW Polo 1.0 TSI BlueMotion on sale
All the emphasis for ‘Eco’ cars in recent years has been on diesel-powered cars, but with diesel engines getting ever more expensive thanks to Euro 6 regulations, and buyers just starting to wake up to the unpleasant emissions from diesel cars, petrol-engined cars – for economy – look set for a return.
Thanks to the 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine, the Polo TSI BlueMotion delivers 94bhp and 160lb/ft or torque, enough to make decent progress (0-62mph in 10.5 seconds on the way to a top speed of 119mph) and still manages to deliver official economy of 68.9mpg and emissions of 94g/km.
With a trim level based on the Polo S, the BlueMotion also gets a styling pack – new bumpers, grill, side skirts, roof spoiler – as well as Fogs and BlueMotion badges, 15″ alloys, low rolling resistance tyres, AirCon, Cruise, Infotainment and VW’s Driver Alert.
VW say the new Polo TSI BlueMotion is now available to order from UK showrooms, with first customer deliveries expected in March 2015. Entry-price for the TS BlueMotion is £14,730 for the 30-door and £15,360 for the five-door.
