2017 Mercedes-AMG E 63 Estate – for when you need to move ‘stuff’ rather swiftly

The 2017 Mercedes-AMG E 63 and E 63 S Estates arrive ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, complete with up to 604 bhp.

It’s only a few months since the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E 63 arrived, and Mercedes already has the estate version ready to go, with a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Just like its saloon siblings, the E 63 Estate and E 63 S Estate, come with Mercedes’ potent 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8, producing 563bhp in the regular E 63 and a whopping 604 bhp in the E 63 S.

The 553lb/ft and 626lb/ft of torque the 4.0 litre twin-turbo delivers respectively is tamed, to a degree, by Mercedes standard 4MATIC four-wheel drive, allowing the E 63 to get to 62 mph in a really rather silly 3.6 seconds and the S in 3.5s. That’s about the same as a Ferrari GTC4.

Mercedes’ say the official economy is 31 mpg, but in the real world you’ll be doing alright if you better 20 mpg – and if the limited 155 mph is just too slow you can get to 180 mph by opting for the AMG Driver’s Pack.

Both cars get an AMG bodykit, tweaked exhaust system, Performance seats and air suspension and boast load lugging capabilities of 1,820 litre with the seats down.

Expect price to be a few thousand north of the saloon’s starting price range of £78-103k when the E 63 Estate goes on sale in April including a spec-maxed First Edition.

If you need to buy a Estate Car to move stuff then choose the E350d which would make better sense

Who do you think will drive this fast? Nobody. This is just another cynical willy-waving german car to say “look at me, look how much money I have and how little I know about cars”.
I think we should name all of these ridiculous german cars “top trumps” – then we can associate the smugness and the stupidity (alongside success I agree) with Mr Trump.
